LIBERTY MOTORSPORTS SCORES PODIUM FINISH IN USF2000 DEBUT PDF Print E-mail
Mansur P3Liberty Motorsports full-time foray into pro junior formula car competition got off to a highly successful start this weekend (March 27-28), with a podium finish in Round One of the Cooper Tires Presents the USF2000 National Championship Powered by Mazda. Terrick Mansur finished third in the opening race of the season-opening doubleheader on the streets of St. Petersburg, Fla., before backing it up with a superb recovery drive to fourth in race two. Matthew Powers in his first-ever car races, was involved in a first turn incident in race one, but recovered in race two with a top-10 finish.

US F2000 SeriesLiberty Motorsports will take the plunge into the pro racing ranks this weekend (March 27-28) when it takes part in the season-opening rounds of the Cooper Tires Presents the USF2000 National Championship Powered by Mazda on the streets of St. Petersburg, Fla. Aruban standout Terrick Mansur and American formula car rookie Matthew Powers will drive for the club racing multiple race winners, having shown good speed and skill in testing with the Illinois-based squad.

Powers Joins Liberty Motorsports for 2010 Campaign PDF Print E-mail
Matthew PowersLiberty Motorsports is excited to announce the signing of American Matthew Powers for the upcoming 2010 Cooper Tires Presents the USF2000 National Championship Powered by Mazda. The Californian will make his car racing debut this season as part of a two-car effort by the standout Illinois-based squad.

Liberty Motorsports has achieved much success in the amateur junior formula car ranks over the past few years and will make the move to pro racing in 2010 via the newly revitalized USF2000 National Championship. Powers will drive the No. 36 Liberty Motorsports Van Diemen in the team’s s inaugural pro season. A highly regarded karter, Powers joins Liberty Motorsports following an impressive test with the squad at Andersen RacePark in Florida, where the teenager not only turned some fast times, but also showcased great car control and technical feedback. Powers will contest six rounds of the USF2000 National Championship, partnering returning racer Terrick Mansur under the Liberty Motorsports awning.
