Chuck Lessick - lead mechanic. Chuck started driving cars competitively in 1987 by competing in SCCA's Solo 2 program, driving a Toyota MR2. In 1994 he began competing in the Midwestern Council of Sports Car Clubs (MCSCC) on-track high-speed autocross (Time Attack) program. In 1998 Chuck purchased a F2000 car in order to get involved in wheel-to-wheel competition in Formula Continental. He began racing in MCSCC races and quickly became competitive and won his first championship. He then moved on to racing in SCCA regional races, became the Central Division area 5 FC Champion in 2001 and the Central Division Regional FC Champion in 2002. Chuck began SCCA National racing in 2004, and finished 8th in the Central Division earning an invitation to the SCCA Runoffs. In 2005, Chuck completed his first Professional season racing in the F2000 Cooper Tires Championship Series. While testing for the last race of the 2006 Pro Season at Road America Chuck was involved in a crash that would keep him off the track for a few years.
Previously, Chuck had been a Master Technician at a Toyota dealership, so it was only natural that he did all of the maintenance, repair, and support work on his own racecars. Since he was always on a very tight budget it was more cost effective for him to learn how to do things for himself. Over the years, this gave Chuck enough experience that it would give him the opportunity to remain on the Pro racing scene.
In 2007 Chuck began working professionally as a racecar mechanic accepting a fly in mechanic position at a well known Formula 2000 race team. He was the lead mechanic on Terrick Mansur‘s car competing in the F2000 Championship Series. Chuck used his experiences to prepare the best car possible for his driver and in his first year as a professional mechanic the car finished third in the championship. In 2008, Chuck was the lead mechanic on the car of Anders Krohn and in that year both driver and mechanic met their season goal of winning the F2000 Championship Series against a highly competitive field.
Chuck prides himself in building and maintaining top notch no excuses kind of racecars. His attention to detail lends itself to cars that finish races, believing that quality time spent preparing a car to race will lead to quality time and great results once at the track.
